March | 3/8/2001 | Melissa Barnet from WatchGuard Technologies will be with us. She will be discussing the need for firewall devices to protect the computers of those who use the Internet, especially those with "always on" connections. She will also discuss the advantages / disadvantages of software versus hardware firewalls and then discuss the hardware firewall products that WatchGuard offers. |
April | 4/12/2001 | After two years, Gene Barlow from Power Quest will be here again. Those of you who know Gene and his product line know that this will be a great presentation. As usual Gene will have product available at discounted, User Group prices. |
May | 5/10/2001 | Claudia Caspary of Wireless Webconnect, the local Authorized Service Provider for Metricom, will be demonstrating the new, faster Ricochet wireless modem system. Also, each attendee will be eligible to toss his/her business card or other identification into Metricom's national, quarterly drawing. The next drawing will be on June 1st and the winner will receive a free 128kb Ricochet mobile modem and a one-year service plan. (Great prize but long odds since a national drawing.) |

October | 10/11/2001 | Want to know about Microsoft's new XP operating system. Here's your chance. Microsoft will be here with a full presentation. |
November | 11/8/2001 | So, you've been thinking about buying a new computer? Do you want to find out what all those funny abbreviations mean in the sales adds? Then you need to attend "Understanding Today's Technology and Terminology. Can a newer computer bring you happiness?" put on by our very own Steve Fondren. |
| December | 12/13/2001 | A representative from Hylink Technology will demonstrate Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Premiere and discuss the training courses that they offer on several Adobe products. |
