February's Meeting will be a joint meeting between KEGS and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society Seattle Section. Our presenter will be Robert Colwell, Intel's chief IA32 microprocessor architect from 1992 to 2000. He will be speaking about his recently published book The Pentium Chronicles: The People, Passion, and Politics Behind the Landmark Chips, which will be available for purchase at a reduced price.

IMAGES FROM JAPAN AND MANIPULATING IMAGES WITH ADOBE PHOTOSHOP - by Herb Johnson

Herb is a past coordinator for The Seattle Mountaineer's Basic Photography Course and Digital Photography Workshop. First Herb will show us photos from his recent trip to Japan and then he will show us how he turns his original images into 'wow' photos using Adobe Photoshop. His before and after images are amazing. Herb has always dazzled us with his presentations, so this should be an enjoyable evening.

Bob Baxter will present a review of the many uses of WEB calendar software.

Remember the family calendar on the refrigerator? With all the family appointments mixed together? And if you were away from home, how would you check the family calendar?

Outlook, Calendar Creator, PDAs, etc. are helpful but there are other ways to make the dynamic Family Calendar more useful.

Bob will explain some Web calendars that can separate events into meaningful groups and be displayed in full or part from anyplace you can access the web.
