Prez Says for June 2023

Welcome to June, the month of Flag Day, Father's Day, and the KEGS Auction!  I hope you will have an enjoyable Father's Day celebration and are planning to attend our Auction.

This June is very special to KEGS because we are able to host our Auction on June 6th, which will be in-person only.  The Auction Preview will be from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Please plan to arrive early to pick up your KEGaBuck$ and snacks and to be able to see all of the items.  Bidding will start at 6:00 PM and end at 8:00 PM.  Auction setup will begin at 3 PM with cleanup starting at 8 PM.  This year, because of generous donations by KEGS Members, every KEGS Member attending the Auction in person will receive an additional 1,000 KEGaBuck$.  Sundown is at 9:03 PM on June 6 so you will have lots of time to drive home in daylight.

There will be no July Tech Corner or July General Meeting because the first Tuesday is the July 4th Holiday.

If you want to learn more about Linux, visit Steve Herber at our Linux Special Interest Group hybrid meeting starting at 6:30 PM on June 13th.

Don't forget to drop in on Sally Ann at our Zoom Digital Imaging Special Interest Group Meeting at 7:00 PM on June 27th.    June's Theme is Favorite Action Photos and Videos.

To keep up with technology, visit https://www.techforsenior.com to learn about their Monday morning meetings (9:00 AM PT), their Newsletter, and their Facebook page.

I look forward to seeing you at our Auction on June 6th.

We did have enough April showers, so hopefully we will have great May flowers.  May is the month of Mother’s Day and the Memorial Day Holiday.  I hope you and your family enjoy the special celebrations this month.

On May 7th we will have our Tech Corner and General Meeting at the North Bellevue Community Center. These will be hybrid meetings (in-person and via Zoom).  Our General Meeting program will be "Tips from Hewie and Ron" presented by Hewie Poplock and Ron Brown.  Would you like a quick source for manuals that is comprehensive and does not require your email and credit card information?  Hewie will show us one.  Please join us for this very useful presentation of tips from Hewie and Ron.

Do you have questions about one of your computer devices or software? Join Leader Andy Peck at 6:00 PM on May 7th for our Technology Corner hybrid meeting.  May’s topics include Spying Vending Machines & Batteries, AI Bandwagon, Passkeys, etc.

If you want to learn more about Linux, visit Steve Herber at our Linux Special Interest Group hybrid meeting starting at 6:30 PM on May 8th.  The Linux Group also has a build-your-own server project Zoom meeting at 7:00 PM on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.

We did not find someone to volunteer space to store auction items and for sorting and labeling the items before the auction.  So there is no auction this year.  Hopefully someone will volunteer space for next year.
